The unique NCS opportunity concentrates on shaping personal and social development, making it an ideal programme for your school/you to promote as something to look forward to after the intense GCSE exam period. It’s also a valuable chance for those pupils who might struggle to learn in a traditional classroom setting to explore their abilities in a completely different environment.
Each young person will have a different NCS experience. Some of the ways which JLGB feels schools will benefit are:
- Young people will return with a real understanding of what they are capable of, taking greater pride in their achievements
- Pupils will discover new talents - something which will be useful not only for UCAS and job applications, but for their whole lives!
- They will gain first-hand experience of what it means to be a more responsible, active and caring member of their community
- This is unique chance for young people to learn to work with others from different faiths and backgrounds and will help them to confront any prejudices and misconceptions in a constructive and positive manner
